Terms and Conditions
All orders that you place with Kate Lewis Design will be subject to acceptance in accordance with these terms and conditions.
Copyright
All our designs and artwork are copyright © Kate Lewis Design. It is an infringement of copyright to copy in full or part any designs shown on our website, brochures & all other promotional materials.
Any unauthorised reproduction of designs or products is strictly prohibited. We take any unauthorised copying or printing of our design work very seriously. Legal action will be taken in all such cases. Any designs created for you using our bespoke service will remain copyright of Kate Lewis Design.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have permission to use any material (e.g. poems or hymns) you ask us to include in your wedding stationery and in particular you indemnify Kate Lewis Design against any action brought against it for breach of a third party's copyright. Copyright exists in creative works such as hymns for 70 years after the death of the writer. During that period, it is illegal to reproduce the works in any form without the permission of the copyright holder (or their appointed agent). Therefore, should you wish to reproduce the text of a hymn in your Order of Service, you will need the permission of the copyright holder. You will find details of the copyright holder at the bottom of each hymn's page, although many of the hymns are out of copyright due to their age.
Samples
Samples are available for all stationery designs shown on our website. Samples will be supplied to you in the same colour and format as they appear on this website. Any samples will be charged at the full rate, and will be refunded against your final order. (Up to a maximum of 2 samples will be refunded).
Please note: for our bespoke service we are only able to generate designs and provide exact samples/colour requirements once we have received the £50.00 design fee.
Accuracy
The majority of products we use on our wedding stationery are handmade or hand finished, so a slight variation in colour and materials may occur and may differ slightly from the photographs on our website. Our wedding stationery is handmade and therefore may differ slightly from card to card. This is not deemed as faulty. If product specifications from our suppliers change we will endeavour to offer you an alternative of the same or better quality at the same price as your initial order. If you order Wedding Stationery in stages then we cannot guarantee continuity of design.
Colours shown in the images displayed on this website and electronic email proofs may vary slightly from the colours of the final printed product. This is because colours displayed on screen and in print are slightly different. However we try to show all stationery products and colours as accurately as possible. We do advise customers to order samples wherever possible before ordering stationery, as the cost of samples are refunded and this ensures that you are 100% happy with the design and colours before you buy.
Every effort will be made to keep any variants to an absolute minimum.
Prices
Our prices are subject to change without prior notice. Any price increase will not affect any confirmed orders.
All prices displayed on our website, quotes and invoices are non-negotiable.
Prices for our bespoke service will be quoted on an individual basis depending on your requirements as the customer.
Once you have received an invoice it must be paid in full within 7 days of the invoice date.
Bespoke Services
Our bespoke service involves an initial telephone consultation, during which we will gather as much information about you and your wedding as possible to enable us to design the perfect range of stationery for you. If you decide after the initial free consultation to go ahead with the bespoke service the fee is £50.00 to create your own personalised design. This includes any PDF proofs sent to you and up to 3 samples (to get the design exactly right). Once the design is finalised ordering will follow the usual process.
Payment
When ordering online you will be required to pay the full balance of your order (50% of this is non-refundable). If you prefer to order offline a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total amount is required on receipt of your order. The balance will be invoiced shortly before delivery and must be settled before your order can be despatched. Delay in payment at any stage will result in a delay of your order. Payment details will be sent with the invoice.
Ordering
All orders for goods shall be deemed to be an offer by you, the customer, to purchase goods pursuant to these terms and conditions. Once you have placed your order you will be contacted within 1 working day by telephone or email to confirm your order and to collect the details required for each item of your stationery order. If you had opted to pay offline you will also be invoiced for 50% of your total order.
Once you have placed an order, paid your 50% deposit and you have supplied us with the required information to feature on your stationery items, you will receive PDF proofs by email within 7 working days. Failure to provide the required information will delay the proofs.
All text that you would like to feature on your items of stationery must be supplied to us in Word, Excel or Email format (this includes guest names where applicable). We are unable to produce your order if you do not supply us with this information, as and when we request it. If you fail to supply us with the required information to produce your order, Kate Lewis Design cannot be held liable for being unable to complete your order or for delays of your order due to delays in obtaining this information. It is your responsibility to check that your order details are correct before your stationery item(s) go to print.
As a guideline we recommend sending your invitations out 6-8 weeks before your wedding; however some people wish to send them out up to 12 weeks before. This is advisable if your wedding falls on a bank holiday or if you are getting married abroad.
If you are planning on sending save the date cards, invitations are usually sent out 4-6 weeks before, with the save the date cards going out 10-12 weeks before.
Evening invitations can be sent at the same time as day invitations, or can be held back 2-3 weeks. Table plans and numbers, place cards, menus and order of service can be held back and finalised when you have the exact information and wording nearer to the date of your wedding.
Minimum Order
There is no minimum order for our stationery. With the exception of the “wedding cake patch” this range is subject to a minimum of 50 on the invitations only.
Proofs
PDF proofs will be emailed to you after receiving your order; once these are approved a physical sample proof will be sent to you free of charge. It is your responsibility to check the proofs thoroughly and confirm they are correct by signing and returning them. Once approved, any amendments will incur a charge for any re-printing.
Orders which are cancelled after proofs have been signed and returned must be paid for in full.
Proofs of wedding stationery will be sent to the customer before proceeding with the order. It is the customer’s responsibility to check each proof carefully. We accept no responsibility for incorrect personalised stationery if signed proofs were not properly checked and incorrect personalisation details were provided to us or if the client requests not to amend/view any proofs.
The first set of proofs will be sent as an electronic PDF which will be emailed to you once your order and 50% deposit has been received.
Once these are approved a physical sample proof will be sent. It is your responsibility to check the proofs thoroughly and confirm they are correct by signing and returning them. We will not proceed with the order until the customer confirms that the proof is correct by sending us a signed proof form in the post.
Proofs will only be processed once the deposit payment has cleared.
As soon as we receive the stationery order and deposit a production date and approximate shipment date will be given. If proofs have not been approved by the customer in time for the start of production then we reserve the right to cancel your order and retain the 50% deposit. Once approved, any amendments will incur a charge for any re-printing. Orders which are cancelled after proofs have been signed and returned must be paid for in full.
